Theatre
sets and scenery

Have you ever dreamed of being on the West End? Broadway?

Our friends at TR2 are helping to make dreams become reality with the most incredible set designs and production facilities.

In 2003 TR2 was opened and was Europe’s first purpose built production and education centre. It was opened by the Earl of Wessex.

It was also in 2003 when Cameron Mackintosh’s UK tour of Cats began its life in the TR2 workshops undertaking their first major set build.

The TR2 building is a truly unique production and learning centre set on the water front in Plymouth. Their architecturally award-winning building contains unrivalled set, costume, prop-making and rehearsal facilities.

The work carried out here is extremely stringent and integral to the completion of any show that they are tasked with.

As like anything in the theatrical world, time scales are often urgent and costly if not met. It is important for us at Laser Industries to work closely with our customers to ensure that the work is carried out in a time effective manner whilst ensuring the quality is second to none.

Laser Industries provides laser cut components for scenery. This can be seen most recently in the image of ‘Triton’s Throne’ for ‘The Little Mermaid’.

We also help in the cutting of intricate details such as the base plates, that went onto the ‘Wave’ for the ‘Poppies at the Tower of London 2014’. This went on to tour throughout the United Kingdom.

T7 DESIGN

T7 Design has been a customer with Laser for a number of years, purchasing components from us to be used when manufacturing bespoke HVAC (heating, ventilation and cooling) systems. Their enthusiasm for designing the best products, coupled with 'in house' product development and manufacture allow T7 Design to produce high quality and cost effective solutions.

Marine Fabrication

We also do business with companies in the marine safety industry. For example we have drawn up from templates, to create samples and final components of quick release mechanisms that you would see on the deck of a boat to ensure straps and lines are safe. Along with this, we have helped to provide the highest specification of marine grade stainless steel to produce safety harness buckles, adjuster buckles, slides and rails.
